Just from the Russians I thought we saw noticeable improvements just between the Moscow Grand Prix and now. Much better timing with the Risks. But watching Kapranova walk out there made me realize that she looks like a kangaroo when she walks out and onto the carpet. Not the hopping, of course, but just something about the feet and the way her knees hyper-extend a little bit when she tries to stand "gracefully".

I thought the Front split w/ 1/2 turn of trunk balance was removed, through, but we still saw it today.

Wow, that's new, Kapranova looks like a kangoroo. Reminds me of the famous coach who called Zhukova a "gray mouse." Some people may need to look at themselves in the mirror first before comparing world champions with animals. Stupid Stupid Stupid

Waiting results here at arena... (Some singers are doing the song, "Don't Worry Be Happy!" jeje)
Just quick, re Evgeniya she had missed recatch of ribbon toss at very end of routine. Could be close with Sessina, dunno yet. -T

Here are just the top three results from today's qualifying (Saturday, 7March) at Budapest.
This comes from Gergely's calculation (we are waiting the official posting) so for now here you go...

1. Evgeniya Kanaeva RUS 110.950
2. Vera Sessina RUS 109.925
3. Olga Kapranova RUS 106.925

Roughly we think Liubov Charkashyna BLR will be 4th and Aliya Yussupova KAZ will be 5th. Don't quote us!
This is all for now (as group is starting in a little bit) and just no way to do all the numbers for the 23-gymnasts in today's senior individual rounds. More later... -T

Hold on, impressions and full results of the day are coming, but I just got home.

Re: Groups: I didn't see the official results as well, but they're not interesting anyway, as all groups are in the finals.

But.

I don't know who invented the 3 ribbons + 2 ropes, but it's stupid.

I have never seen so much mistakes from elite groups since I'm watching RG. Russia was a total mess, Belarus slightly better, but at the end two girls simply didn't know where they should be on the floor! Hungary with 3 major mistakes, China with two, Bulgaria with two as well. If you want to see total chaos on the carpet, get a video from these.

5 Hoops were all right.

Result w/ 5 Hoops: 1. RUS 25.150, 2. BLR 25. 100, 3. BUL 23.550, 4. HUN 22.700, 5. CHN 22.400

No results with the other routines when I left.
