Hi mates, some quick random notes to ramble a bit...now that RUS has finished their training session. Lisichka has it pretty much correct on the gymnast list. I noticed... Re RUS, you have nearly the entire Novogorsk national team with top 4-5 seniors and juniors. But there are some exceptions. Yes, Rita Mamun and Nataliya Bulycheva are here. But with juniors, I don't see Valeria Tkachenko...but there is a new girl that Barny and I asked about. She is blond, slender with muscle definition and we were told the name "Nazarenko" (believe it is not Anastasia Nazarenko, year 1993, from RUS group). I looked google just now and I get nothing same as junior we just saw. Wait exact start list to get her name correct...

Dynamics of RUS seniors... Zhenya is queen of the show here no question. Vibe within the team knows as much. Zhenya was with few errors in trainings just now finished. Just she had a painful hand injury at one point from hitting clubs and had to be sprayed & taped. AA gold is all but decided then (given top RUS judge is here as well, forget here name, oops). Plus all the top RUS coaches are here as well and including I. Viner as chief. Two Daria's had some errors but Daria Kondakova was more consistent all main podium session. After think was her ribbon(?)...Dasha hit the accelerator and pushed very hard. She was a full minute in warm down, gulping for air afterward. Very impressive...to my eye, the most dynamic routine of all team members here. Ekaterina Donich and Yana Lukonina were solid (have one nice Yana portrait (big eyes))...other RUS seniors here got less carpet time on main podium. Rita Mamun was same quality as she showed at Montreal WC in late January. Nataliya Bulycheva has grown some centimeter since 2010 and guessing she goes to group soon. I. Viner's quandary, how to arrange her talent.

RUS seems to have packed some kind of big punch for Holon GP. So much so, their rivals decided not to answer, it seems... We have seen zero BLR seniors, only juniors. No Liubov Charkashyna or Melitina Staniouta (still injured?) or Sasha Narkevich have been seen and are not on Lisichka's list either. Only two tiny sized juniors that have no clue of their names. Just they came to main carpet in last hour. UKR, just I saw in the spectator seats early on. Albina Deriugina, I think is delegation head and coach here. I remember seeing Ganna Rizatdinova and Viktoria Mazur in the seats. I asked about Alina Maksymenko and Barny said she was sent to Schmiden Intl held this same weekend. They come to main podium in the next hour so can add some on Ukraine later.
I didn't see ISR training in the 12noon hour (was late, so sorry Dalit, plz forgive me). I see Neta Rivkin on Lisichka's list, but Barny didn't mention her when I asked. I don't see Irina Risenzon on list and I looked 3-times (am I missing something?). Surely with Barny's nice photo of Irina so GIANT big poster all across the arena walls of Katzir Hall, maybe Irina will give a gala? Let's hope, because she is very popular here. ISR group does show on Lisichka's list (didn't see them here last Sept). I asked Barny about Katerina Pisetsky and he says she is trainer now...a gala by Katya would be so cool to see. Ps. Special thanks to Ron Avital for helping me so much with arrival planning and Amit Schussel for unjamming a lens cap on main lens will use. Amit, you are amazing! Organization is very friendly and is pleasure to be here. Better stop this ramble =) Byeeeee, -T

That's Elizaveta Nazarenkova (1995). Thank you for your notes, interesting.

Quick report on UKR, then ISR trainings...
As listed above by Lisichka...Ukraine here is Ganna Rizatdinova, Viktoriia Shynkarenko and Viktoria Mazur. Clean lines coming from the classic D-School training cycle. Albina (coach and chief) was ever attentive to all. If you know Ukraine RG over many years, you will see distinctive elements of Anna Bessonova, Tamara Yerofeeva and Natalya Godunko in near every routine. How not? It's in the culture and RG history of D-School and it would be very recognizable to near anyone who follows this team. Ganna Rizatdinova was the most solid (a few words with her afterward, she knows some English). Just I have to say as a team (my first look in 2011)...flat-out they had cleaner lines and fewer errors in training then RUS. No question, this is Israel and RUS has a near home field advantage (this is RG remember). Viktoria Mazur to my eye has grown a centimeter or two (a little blonder now?) had 1 or 2 drops. Viktoriia Shynkarenko is lovely girl up-close...I went b/w all session due falling light conditions (sunset outside) and hope for contrast to come up in the gallery. Only one song, I recognized from earlier years, so perhaps D-School is listening to rsg.net a bit.

ISR... Yes, Neta Rivkin is here this year! Neta looked as good as ever and only has to maintain form and technique and she will make London 2012. I didn't know the other gymnast...Victoria Filanovsky. She is same same package as Mariana or Joanna Romao or say Ines Gomes of Portugal. Check videos after, am I right? The big surprise (for me)--> in walks Katerina Pisetsky! We didn't recognize her at first as she had a red baseball like cap on with pony tail out back. Barny asks, is it her...we look closer and it was Katya. She waved and said Hi! =) Managed a few quick portraits. Htg back to hotel. Byeee, -T
