Yes, the coach should watch over their protégée to ensure that she doesn't get injured but these things just HAPPEN. We see it again and again in this sport and several others as well. Accidents happen that you can't prevent.

Boyanka had many, many injuries, not one or two. She recovered from most of them but then it just got too much.... It's one thing to have an accident once and twist an ankle or something, completely another to train without warming up properly etc.

I don't think you quite get what LudaFenka means.

I think she just wanted to say that in order to make a competitor successful the federation must look after their athletes and provide them good training conditions which also includes preventing and recovery from injuries. They do not have the money to afford expensive oxygen (or whatever it is) therapy of the muscles like the Russians.

I'm 100% sure we understand.
If she didn't warm up properly, then that might be her fault. I mean, surely she's old enough to know better.

And what I'm saying is that there is NO WAY to completely prevent injuries from coming. Even if you do warm up properly or don't have oxygen replenishing equipment.

Nobody has said that ALL injuries can be prevented. We are not talking about extremes here. Nobody is making any kind of all encompassing generalization. That would be stupid. The warm up and the oxygen etc. are just EXAMPLES.

But if a gymnast gets injured very often, that should be a sign that maybe they need to change something in the way they train. It can't be just all bad luck.
