I really loved her in her first years and I think she really coined RG for s long time. I will never forget her "carmen" exercise or her asiatic dance for ribbon or the birds for clubs. And of course I was fascinated seeing elements like "kabaeva" the first time.
But I also agree that she should better have stopped after Sydney. The first competitions after her comeback were great, nice to see a lady instead of a girl. But then you could see that she is not fit, not in a good shape and overscored.
But after all: She made RG famous! I like to say: Thank you Alina for your routines, your style and your new elements. Its really time to leve, but I will miss you and your smile! |
what is the 'birds for clubs' you refer to? sounds interesting... |

her 2001 clubs routine, for me, a masterpiece (even with the music which was part of the "spirit2 of the routine, although it was childish ) |

| I feel sad that I won't see her compete anymore and that this is it for Alina Kabaeva in gymnastics. I am such a big Kabaeva fan because she interest me in the sport. She was the first gymnast in rhythmics I ever saw! I love her and now that she is not in it, I feel there is no need for me to watch it. I will keep up with Alina in her political career and whatever pr I can get but I felt sad about Chaschina retiring and now about Kabaeva. |
