I feel no resentment, but pity for what could be much better done to no effort and it isn't. I understand you defending the supposed "grandeur" of "your" Tournament, like everybody would do with their home event, but sorry, it doesn't work. Let's forget about chauvinism and be more objective.
Gymnasts are all in all even more safe in places like Berlin, Kiev, Thiais, just to mention only Grand Prix events. Even in World Cup events like Varna, Vitry Cup, Düsseldorf, etc, security is an important matter but not an obsession like in Corbeil. I ask the gymnasts who use to write in here to tell you in PM if they feel comfortable in Corbeil (surely they can't do it in public to avoid any retaliation)...
I won't go on with this issue, it's past for me and it'll remain so untill they change if they ever do. Mr. Thierry Beau is very well aware of our objections and shares most of them with us. If even the sport organizer is worried about this issue, I don't care if you're not. The truth is only one and clear.
RSG is not football, gymnasts are not pop stars, they are, above all persons and not cattle. They have almost no freedom there to meet anybody, to move or whatever.
This will be my last post on this matter. It's not worth more time and we are both boring the members of this board and going too off topic on this post. Let's give the importance to the gymnasts and their performances and not to this issue which are not relevan but to those of us who have to suffer them.

That's quite sad you said this about me because you don't know me. I am not a crazy fan who absolutly want to have a photo of me with gymnasts. I haven't attack somebody so please be nice...
The only thing is that I know Anahi and Nadine PERSONNALY and that they asked me before Corbeil to come to say Hi to them and to talk with them...
I can easilly understand that hight level gymnasts don't want to be all the time invaded by fans but that's sad they can't meet friends... that's all I have to said. _________________ http://perso.wanadoo.fr/celia.gorgeon/

I just wonder why corbeil comitee is so blind...
I mean there are 2 other wonderful tournament in France with Calais and Thiais...why can"t they just see how it's happen there.
Even if the tfacilities are not the same..... unfortunately the atmosphere isn't the same also...
A lot of people here went in a lot o tournament all over the world and each year it's worse about Corbeil, it's the only tournament about so much people complain.....maybe organisation have just to woder why and to bee a little less pride of themself (I don't talk about Mr Beau who makes his best for this event) _________________ Don't forget the power of your fingers ! |

happy girl maybe you are too blind to understand i dunno it's sad for you
Quote: | Same for Mili & Lili. ,you have to realize that the organization is made for these High Level Gymnasts , not for the volonteers, because without Gymnasts you, the photographers, and me, we are nothing, and you wouldn't come . |
well you know i don't thing what would happen if there where no volunteers
i think your "great tournament" would be so great because of lacks in the organization (already existing) |

Thank you, happygirl for taking these incidents (Dirk's and mine) to the City Hall.
For me, the main problem in Corbeil is that there are two official organisations, one of the City of Corbeil and one for the sport. And a third, hidden one, around this security man (also known to some of us as "Dalí") - they simply do what they want. They enjoy to pick on people, make their own rules, change them day by day etc... I only talk about the security guards in the blue worker outfits... this special group:
- of which I don't know where their power comes from,
- that I can't explain to myself who contracted them, because there are a lot of people more capable than them in Corbeil
- where there is no "superior" who gives them clear instructions or who'd give instructions to the press people. Or to whom you could complain.
- who make your stay at Corbeil a constant fight and nerve-loosing battle
The problem is that this Dalí-Security-group makes their own rules, one day you can stand on one place, next day you stand on the same place and "Pas possible, Madame. C'est interdit". No coherent instructions.
Happygirl: If you want to improve your great tournament, contract good, capable, intelligent security guards, give them clear instructions and make a press briefing before the competitions starts. Or give the press a sheet with instructions where they can stand and take pics - and make them sign it.
Nobody will complain then.
I wanted to quote Tigrenoir, because we had a very good experience in Corbeil, too (like him). In 2003, Guillermo lost a battery, he asked me to call the City Hall (as I speak French) and ask for it. The girl there was very nice, she said somebody found the battery and she sent it back to Guillermo (surely he paid for it). That was really VERY nice and I want to thank her here again for what she did.
This is only another example for what could be Corbeil if there would be coherent instructions for ALL and no Dalí-security guard group.
