Waw!
From memory, Irina Funtikova (CAN) was individual at WC2001 Madrid and last seen in RG (think was) with Canadian rhythmic group at WC2002 New Orleans. Then following, there was word she was on Canadian aesthetic group gymnastics team for a period (have never seen AGG and only from videos and Dirk showing me his work). Someone who knows Irina's RG career better, please correct as needed.
Lovely that Irina continues as model... It would be way cool to see like a Marvin or James studio photo set with Irina as she is now.
OT, another eye-opener was to see how many photographers are listed on supermodels.nl !!! On barely two hands can you list the dedicated few photographers that follow RG. Even comparing the photographers at Stuttgart 2007 (AG) and Patras 2007 (RG). Wayyy more at Stuttgart! I wonder what the big fashion shows are like...

Yes, Ira competed with Kalev's "Rhythmic Expressions" at the AGG Worlds 2004 in Sofia, Bulgaria, where the team placed 10th (out of 2. |

Well,
I was wondering where she "disappeared".
But knowing her a little bit I was also wondering where she will "appear",
being at that time a charming young lady ))
Nice to see that Irina keeps going well.
It is much better then she found a better realization-
continuing with now day gym she risked a lot to injure her back,
as many, many gymnasts who didn't stop in time
I wish her all the best and good luck.

I'd love to see that!!!! And I had no idea that she had also done AGG with no other than the lovely Tchachenko!!! Thank you for letting me know!!

This is quite true!! Even though there has been an increase in the numbers of dedicated "reporters" (videos and photos!), the number of photographers is crazy!!!... Actually I was hoping to find you there

Ira competed at the AGG Worlds 2004, only, while Elena was on the team in 2003, 4 and 5. In 2005, Kalev placed 5th at the Worlds and on the team was also Emilie Livingston, the Americas' Olympian 2000.
There is a video of this routine on my website "Canadian Aesthetics" under Kalev Estienne's "Rhythmic Expressions" at http://www.geocities.com/canadianaesthetics/c-links.html
BTW, Elena is also modelling. |
