In this competition you will be able to see Kabaeva with ball when she was a junior- she was really amazing+a short interview.(part 2)
And all the four routines of the beautiful Chichova in the senior level.(from part 3).
Enjoy !

Thank you Dalit!
Indeed very beautiful. I really liked her as a junior in the 1995 EC and I had never seen her as a senior. I recently looked at the 1998 Russian Championship. There I think she did not perform, she was just interviewed. Russia at that time really had a lot of choice. Kabaeva, Tchachina, Batirchina, Barsukova, Zaripova (although I think Zaripova was too heavy and not good at all)... |

She certainly was talented! It's a pity we didn't see more of her. |

I agree with your comment and i will add,Yes,she was beautuiful to watch, very classical an elegant gymnast .But Kabeava and Tchachina were very strong in those years and personally i think they were more interesting and exciting to watch so i can understand why we didn't see her in the top.
I think that nowdays, because there are a lot more big int. competitions, gymnasts that rank no.3/,4/,5 in Rus.have more chances to shine and to become stars -see the siutuation of Dmitrieva,Lukonina,Merkulova etc'..but during the 90' it was more difficult to the gymnasts that aren't in the top 3 . |

You are right, she was very good but not outstanding. Already at the EC 1995 I liked more Chalamova, who also did not have an individual career. I wonder why Chichova did not join the group as well (maybe too small?). But I you think that Zaripova in 1998 (who was pretty bad in my opinion) was still sent to a EC, Chichova would have been better. |

Zaripova was always pushed instand of others- stronger than her not only in 1998-
In 1995-1996-instand of the amazing Lipovskia.
From 1997-instand of the young talnted seniors .
Altough i must say that i liked her interesting hoop in 1997 -the best routine she ever had in her carrer .watch here-.
