1st impressions:
Adapting well to the January 2018 COP particularly well with apparatus difficulties (AD) even at younger levels.
Plasticity, fluidity, and dance requirements are severely lacking except for some of the very top athletes and even then maybe only in a couple of their routines.
Lack of dynamism, power, and endurance is very apparent in many of the senior athletes. Their coaches need to rethink their training plans if they are not lively on the carpet and can't follow their choreography/music. Anaerobic power and endurance!!!!
I also can't believe that 2018 is the year we hear Backstreet Boys, Christina Aguilera, and Britney. Are these musics really chosen by the gymnasts or the coaches? Camielle Martens' (Atlanta 1996) gymnasts have had exceptional music.
The country of Canada is enormous but you can tell that the majority of these gymnasts have not had enough experience competing. |
